- I am not trying to say all or none but simply to point out that IMO the tax issue will not slow down the momentum to the left as the usurpers [left and right] will just replace the income with a new stream and keep on trucking. I have no disagreement that one at a time might be right but we need the States to do these things for the majority of the citizens like in the days of the Founders are split 50 - 50 and tilting them depends on the message broadcast-ed. Those that are hungry will vote for the free food - if we can not fix the jobs situation - it is all for not IMO.
- That is my goal lock. Fix the jobs situation (even if not permanent). There is a problem with confidence right now. Plenty of cash on the sidelines to finance increased production. But it will stay put unless the consumer starts spending again. Even the consumer has cash (savings rate has increased despite bad economy) and certainly pent up demand -but they will not move until confident. Thats why i think the overhaul providing a stable tax environment is what is needed. Certainty will start to release consumer spending and then the ball is rolling again. Nothing else has worked. And it couldn't hurt IMO.Its all about confidence all the way around.

Obama is not a great thinker, nor is he super intelligent - to the contrary I find him very dull except in his ability to read a speech and deliver it well. I would submit he is a very talented actor and in the 1700 and 1800 perspective of actors he would not rate very high on the scholars list in that society.
He just does not understand how evil people will actually kill your country men if you show weakness they will pounce in a heart beat.See if ning will let this stay?
- John Adams said this -I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. The science of government it is my duty to study, more than all other sciences; the arts of legislation and administration and negotiation ought to take the place of, indeed exclude, in a manner, all other arts. I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain. - Letter to Abigail Adams (12 May 1780)
- here is John again -There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution. - Letter to Jonathan Jackson (2 October 1789)
- Investors and risk takers like stability and the longer the term the greater the risk they will take. IMO the money will sit on the sideline in the USA until we have a real energy and natural resource use plan that provides raw materials and a favorable rule and regulation for mining and heavy manufacturing like metal foundries and metal caster/forming. We must have skilled labor jobs to keep a viable middle class - retail, services, health, high tech, and food industries can not sustain a growing consumer spending economy. An economy that depends 70+% on consumer spend and does not create good paying jobs can not stand. It will fail and shrink for there is no base to support the consumer spending. JMO
- True -But still need a first step. America needs to be the "emerging market" for investment. No silver bullets - building blocks and prayers for enough time to stack 'em.We must move now and not fall prey to paralysis by analysis.
- It doesn't matter how big a Ranch ya own, how many cows ya brand
or how much money ya make -- the size of yer Funeral is still gonna
depend on the weather.

- We were all talking about the bubble in the Universities because of student loans and federal grants - well we were right again -
- TJE and others,Someone gave me a link a while back on sustainable communities, this professor puts it into a neat little class that shows the fallacy of the thinking. If you haven't seen it, watch it at the link, I started you at part 3 but you can go to the beginning and watch it to part 8
- thanx for the thought :~} please don't take this wrong, it's kind of a inside joke with no insult intended... it's pointed at the video and the semi-curse it carries with it. Seems it leaves an impression on most everybody who sees it.LOCK - here's 'the most important video you'll ever see' again !!!Agenda 21 to me represents many dire threats. From it's unofficial policy implementation of a non-ratified UN treaty being a consistent pattern to our unofficial non-war strategy implementation since our official UN Charter signing, to the obvious threat of loss of all core founding concepts to the collectivist horror.and the salt in the wound is Atlas' point.. we are financing it ourselves.
